The Mississippi Methodist Connection is a
collaborative network designed for churches within the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition that seek to maintain a connection based on shared theology and mission.
The agreement addresses the disaffiliation of
several Mississippi churches from The United Methodist Church due to differing views on human sexuality and other theological issues. It
emphasizes the importance of orthodox Wesleyan beliefs and the desire for mutual support and holy conferencing among member churches.
Importantly, the Mississippi Methodist Connection is not a denomination; it operates as a non-profit organization, allowing members to retain autonomy over their beliefs and practices while fostering collaboration and connection.
The Heritage Church Council voted unanimously to join the MMC on October 20, 2024.
