As Executive Pastor, John plays a pivotal role in implementing the church’s mission, vision, and strategy. With a deep commitment to the church’s vision of "Discovering and Deepening Our Faith in Jesus," Pastor John oversees staff development, coaching, and ministry leadership, fostering a healthy team culture. He is responsible for the direction and implementation of strategic ministry plans, including stewardship, discipleship, and community outreach.
 
He preaches weekly in the 10:04 Worship Service, encouraging the congregation to experience God in new ways. He works closely with worship planning teams to ensure dynamic worship experiences each week. In addition to weekly preaching and teaching classes, John, along with Reagan Daniels, hosts the After Sunday podcast where they discuss the current sermon topics in greater detail.
 
John has a bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. Pastor John and his wife, Cara, are dedicated to guiding the families of Heritage through different stages of life by building meaningful relationships and sharing the love of Christ. John has been part of the Heritage staff since the summer of 2015.
